The iOS software engineer apologizes after the trial brought against him for disclosing details on the Apple Vision Pro and several products, the policies were abandoned

In March 2024, Apple had filed a complaint against Andrew Aude, which was once on the payroll of the company as an IOS software engineer. The trial said that the person had disclosed confidential information on policies and products, in particular the Apple Vision Pro, to notable media. The trial was rejected, but at least the company obtained apology from the former employee.

The now dissected trial said that Andrew Aude had disclosed more than half a dozen Apple policies and products

It seems that Apple and Andrew have agreed to settle their differences, which led to the abolition of the case. As indicated by 9TO5MACThe public archives have revealed that the Titan based in California no longer continued its former employee, but it seems that a condition was included in exchange for rejecting the trial, which was excuses. Indeed, Andrew went to X and published the following post.

“I spent almost eight years as a software engineer at Apple. Meanwhile, I had access to information sensitive to the internal Apple, including what was then new products and features. But instead of keeping this information secret, I made the mistake of sharing this information with journalists who covered the business. I did not realize it at the time, but it turned out to be a deep and costly error.

Hundreds of professional relationships that I had spent building were ruined. And my career otherwise successful as a software engineer has derailed, and it will probably be very difficult to rebuild it. The flight was not worth it. I sincerely apologize to my former colleagues who not only worked tirelessly on Apple projects, but work hard to keep them secret. They deserved better.

Andrew joined Apple in 2016 and worked on optimizing battery performance. Unfortunately, his career met a premature end when he was dismissed in 2023 after the company discovered that he was the source behind the information disseminated in the media. It is possible that Andrew estimated that public apology was his card “ leaving prison ”, because it would probably have been impossible for him to pay the legal bill. Apple, with its army of lawyers, would have made things severely difficult, and excuses may have been the only way that Endwe has been unscathed, although the same thing cannot be said about its reputation.
