Erica Ash, best known for her work on MADtv And Survivor’s Remorsedied. She was 46 years old.
BET announced Ash’s death in a statement shared on Instagram, writing: “Today, #BETRemembers actress and comedian Erica Ash, who passed away at the age of 46. Known for being both witty and funny, Erica starred in BET favorites such as legal dramas In contempt and parody of reality Real Hollywood Husbands.”
“We extend our deepest condolences and love to her parents, siblings, friends and family,” the statement continued, along with photos and videos of Ash. “Fly high, Queen 🕊”
Ash’s cause of death and the date she died have not been made public.
Following the news of Ash’s death, stars paid tribute to the late comedian on social media.
Loni Love shared a touching tribute to Ash on Instagram, saying: “I am sad to confirm the passing of my friend and fellow actress Erica Ash… Erica was talented and hilarious, whether it was because of the show Survivor’s Remorse Or Madtv she would give her all to her work.
She continued: “She was always there…now she is gone…My sincere condolences to her family and fans 🙏🏾🙏🏾”
The tribute also included photos of Love and Ash over the years, including Ash’s appearances on The truthwhich Love co-hosted with Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai and Garcelle Beauvais until the show ended in 2022.
Niecy Nash Betts recalled the last message she received from Ash before his death in her own social media tribute.
“RIP beautiful girl 🕊️❤️ @theericaash,” she wrote alongside a photo of the couple. “Your last message was ‘I’m gonna make you my #wcw’. Then we had a great time. We will miss you! Thanks for all the laughs! My deepest condolences to your family and loved ones ❤️”
Mike Epps — who starred with Ash in Survivor’s Remorse — paid tribute to him on Instagram.
“RIP ERICA 🥲 gone too soon, she was a great person to work with, full of life, funny and talented, you left a big mark on earth 🌍 🕊️🕊️🕊️,” he wrote.
Ash rose to fame in the mid-2000s when she appeared in The Great Gay Show And Mad TV.
She continued to star in Scary Movie 5 and BET The Real Househusbands of Hollywood with Kevin Hart before landing the role of Mary Charles “M-Chuck” Calloway on the Starz television series Survivor’s remorse.
