Thousands Without Power Due to Storms, High Winds in Cincinnati Area


Thousands of customers are without power as severe storms move through the Cincinnati area. Currently, about 12,000 customers are without power. The most significant impacts are reported in the Florence, Miamitown and Middletown areas. The threat of severe weather remains low, but some storms could produce gusty winds, locally heavy rain and frequent lightning, particularly north of the Ohio River. The storms will weaken and collapse as they move south after sunset. Sunday night is generally clear and dry for most cities. Expect a warm and muggy feeling with lows falling to around 73 degrees. By Monday, heat indices will be near 100, creating dangerously hot conditions. Heat indices will remain near or above 100 through Tuesday. A cold front will end this warm spell with widespread showers and thunderstorms Tuesday through Wednesday. Rain and a few thunderstorms are very likely on Wednesday. After that, it will get cooler and drier. Humidity will also be lower!
