Prophet sequential demo 12
I recently wrote on SequentialThe five best synthesizers of all time. The one I wanted to include but that I did not do it because of the space Prophet 12. I thought I will help compensate for this omission by publishing this beautiful demonstration video here.
The Prophet 12 was released in 2013. Digital / analog hybrid synth, he offered 12 votes each with Four digital oscillatorsA Lowpass Curtis filterA High pass filterA Adjustable feedback circuit,, Four loop envelopes, And Four LFOsmore effects and a mod matrix.
Unique in sound but always very sequential, it is an extremely charming instrument. Well done, Dave.
Steam Demo of Synths at Erica
Physical modeling Makes me so happy. It is difficult to say why, however. It is not as if I like the sound of acoustic instruments like flutes and marimbas and finally I can play them on a synthesizer. Just the opposite, actually. I love electronic sounds. What physical modeling means for me The chance to create strange and totally original sounds in a new way. That’s why I was so excited by Synths of Erica And 112 dB‘s Steam pipeA Eight votes physical modeling synth.
Starsky seems to have the same interest in doing New bizarre sounds Like me, as he soon unleash A torrent of Frightening, confusing and sometimes beautiful sounds of his steam pipe in this demonstration video. Go to the final section, entitled “Ambient Demo”, to hear it in flight.
As Erica Synths says on her product page, “the steam pipe is absolutely versatile and allows Nuanced sound explorationSunoning sound images ranging from the wicks of the cloud to the tape organs, then to the industrial horns of the railroad and finally, to the massive atmospheres and another world. ” Indeed!
Phjanderson Teensymix synth
The next step comes the Teensymix synthA Open source polyphonic DIY synthesizer Developer Phjanderson.
As its name suggests, the Teensymix synth is based on Teensy 4.1 Development Board and was designed to be a easy construction With just one LCD screen and a Digital analog converter. All control is managed by a AKAI MIDIMIX.

You also get Two 12 dB / octave filtersOne with resonance, for a variety of low-low / high combinations pass. You get again two envelopesA LFOout of voice wave thief And waveshaperand a stereo choir.
Consult the Github Teensymix page of Phjanderson for more information.
Korg DW-8000 Personalized OS
I absolutely like when people create New operating systems for old synths. Even better when it is for one of my favorite synthesizers, the Korg DW-8000.
Tubewhich could be best known to design the Chiptune synth For Rytm analog elektronpublished a video demonstrating his New operating system.
“I reversed the Korg DW-8000 operating system (firmware) from 1985, and I started adding new features,” they said. “Bring a new life to a 40 -year -old synth!”
As proof of concept, they added a additional waveform For LFO,, sample and hold. Very cool.
Tubesockor is promising More to comewith a call to parameter suggestions. Go to the video and leave a comment on what you would like him to add.
I am delighted to see what he does. Although I like my DW-8000 as it is, more features would always be welcome.
If you don’t have DW-8000 but want to try the classic hybrid synth, consult Complete music‘s Free plugin emulation. Or, alternately, pick up a Korg mod wavewhich updates the DW-8000 for the 21st century.
