Hurricane HQ: Invest 97L appears to be heading towards the Gulf of Mexico
While Invest 97L’s final destination remains uncertain, it appears the tropical disturbance is headed toward the Gulf of Mexico. That means residents from Florida to Texas will need to pay close attention to the forecast over the weekend.

Tropical disturbance could delay ISS resupply mission
A resupply mission to the International Space Station could be delayed because of Invest 97L. The SpaceX rocket is scheduled to lift off from Cape Canaveral Saturday morning, but storms caused by the tropical disturbance could halt that plan.
Northrop Grumman’s Cygnus spacecraft is attached to the Canadarm2 robotic arm as it prepares to launch into Earth orbit, ending a five-and-a-half-month cargo mission docked with the International Space Station’s Unity module.

Dangerous fungal infection hospitalizes festival-goers
More than 20,000 attendees at a California music festival may have been exposed to a dangerous fungal disease that is spreading rapidly across the country. Authorities say at least five cases of Valley Fever are under investigation.
