Another round of severe weather is expected in some of the same areas Saturday, with the worst storms expected in a narrow band stretching from eastern Colorado to Kansas.

Florida to trade extreme heat for tropical rain

After a heat wave hit Florida throughout the weekend, tropical rains will drench the Sunshine State next week. Triple-digit heat index readings are expected across much of the Florida peninsula through about Tuesday. That’s when heavy rain from a depression in the Gulf of Mexico will arrive and bring a threat of flooding.

What happened here?

A heartwarming rescue took place at Massachusetts this week when a horse found itself in a precarious situation when it fell through the floor of a barn. Valcour, an 8-year-old Lipizzaner gelding, sat comfortably in his stall Monday morning at his home in Ipswich when the ground beneath him suddenly gave way, leaving him partially trapped in the broken boards.
