The Premier League has the most players called up for the Copa America.

The Copa America 2024 is underway and has already served football fans around the world with incredible clashes, comeback victories, late drama, stunning goals and incredible saves, all in just a few matches. These sensational aspects of the game are brought to life by sensational players representing their nation with hearts filled with patriotism and chests filled with pride.

Before participating in such a large-scale international tournament, these world-class footballers play for their respective clubs which are part of a national league in various parts of the world. Each player brings a different dynamic to their national team, depending on the style of play employed by their club and the overall quality of the league.

That being said, here are the five leagues with the most players called up for the 2024 Copa America:

La Liga (Spain) – 28

One of the top-ranked leagues in the world, whose clubs are rich in European heritage, is La Liga in Spain, from which a total of 28 players have been selected for the 2024 Copa America.

This summer’s Copa America features world-class La Liga players such as Federico Valverde, Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, Ronaldo Araujo and Raphinha, to name a few.

Liga MX (Mexico) – 35

Mexico’s Liga MX has seen 35 players selected for their national teams to compete in the 2024 Copa America. Players like Club America forward Alexis Vega will represent Mexico this summer after recording a solid season of 7 goals and 5 assists for his club.

Serie A (Brazil) – 35

35 players have been called up from Brazilian Serie A clubs for the 2024 Copa America. One of the most notable names is Palmeiras’ outgoing striker Endrick, who has been selected to represent the Brazilian national team in such a massive tournament. The 17-year-old sensation has already scored three goals in his six caps for the national team.

MLS (US/Canada) – 41

Major League Soccer (MLS) has contributed 41 players to this summer’s Copa America in the United States. The star player representing the league at the tournament is none other than Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi, who will lead the Argentine team in its bid to win back-to-back Copa America titles.

Much like Liga MX, players selected from MLS clubs primarily serve in a rotational role as fringe players for higher-ranked national teams and serve as starters for lower-ranked nations participating in the tournament.

Premier League (England) – 41

The Premier League is the most watched European domestic league in the world, with all 20 teams competing at the highest level with their star-studded squads.

In Copa America 2024, no fewer than 41 players from Premier League clubs have been called up for the tournament. West Ham midfielders Lucas Paqueta and Edson Alvarez have been called up to the Brazil national team and Mexico national team respectively, after their incredible club campaigns.

Other big players such as Douglas Luiz, Alisson Becker, Alexis Mac Allister, Julian Alvarez, Gabriel Magalhaes and Cristian Romero, to name a few, have all been called up to represent their respective nations at the tournament this summer.
