First of all, he said that at least some AirPods models will obtain a new live translation feature with iOS 19 and an update of the firmware that accompanies it.

The capacity will work like this: if an English speaker hears someone speaking in Spanish, the iPhone translated the speech and will relay it to the user airpods in English. The words of the English speaker, on the other hand, will be translated into Spanish and played by the iPhone.

Google already offers a similar live translation function.

Secondly, he said that iOS 19 will have strengthened translation capacities, which probably means that improvements are coming to the Apple Translation application.

It has not revealed any specific modification provided for the Apple Translate application.

Starting with iOS 18.4, all iPhone users can define a default translation application, such as Google Translate. IOS 18.4 is currently in a beta version, and the update will be published to the general public in early April, according to the Apple website.
