Warriors suffer penalty shootout defeat against Lyon


Batesville, Arkansas – Hendrix lost to the Lyon Scots 93-90 in a penalty shootout at Becnel Arena on Thursday night.

The 90 points were the most the Warriors have scored in a game since scoring 99 points against Birmingham Southern on January 14, 2022.

Simon Shields Scored a season-high 22 points, leading all scorers. It was Shields’ third straight game scoring in double figures, and she has scored in double figures in all but one game to start the season.

Riley Brady He scored a career-high 18 points and was just one rebound away from a double-double. The freshman averaged 12.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in his first four games.

Lyon regained the lead with less than two minutes remaining and kept Hendricks at bay from then on, with the Warriors ultimately unable to create a late chance to equalize.

The loss moved the Warriors to 2-4 on the year and they will return home for an extended break before reuniting with Lyon on Dec. 15 at Grove Arena.
