Karlsruhe, January 8, 2025 – WEROCK Technologies GmbH, an innovative provider of industrial IT solutions, updates the new operating system of its Rocktab S508 and Rocktab S510 series rugged tablets, suitable for demanding environments. Instead of Android 12, devices now ship with Android 14.
IP65 and MIL-STD-810H certified Rocktab S500 tablets perform in extreme conditions, withstanding 1.2 meter drops and vibration. They offer scratch-resistant, gesture-controlled touchscreens and are compact and user-friendly at just 2cm deep.
The update to Android 14 optimizes system performance on Rocktab S508 and Rocktab S510, extends battery life, and increases security with new data protection features. New app management extends battery life up to 12 hours. This not only allows for longer productivity without charging interruptions, but can also eliminate the need for a spare battery during long work days, depending on the application. It also offers improved and more stable connections to Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth devices as well as faster data transfers. Additionally, the user has more customization options, such as adjusting the clock and link design.
Existing customers who already own a Rocktab S508 or Rocktab S510 with Android 12 operating system can receive the update free of charge from WEROCK.
