What you need to know
- Google was spotted by working on a new feature to rationalize cats on several applications, called “Pixel Besties”.
- It could be deployed with the next Pixel QPR update, WhatsApp may be the first third party application to integrate.
- The functionality could live in its own application called “Pixel relationship” and could include a home screen widget.
Juggling with discussions on a bunch of different applications is pain, and Google seems to try to solve this problem with a new feature that draws all your important conversations in one place.
Originally called “Besties” and later “VIPS”, this functionality has now been renamed as “Pixel Besties”, according to Android authority. In its heart, it is designed to allow users to create a sorted list of their essential contacts – largely, the people with whom they discuss the most.
According to the socket, the functionality could be deployed with the next Pixel QPR update, and WhatsApp could be the first third party application to jump on board with integration.
Once a contact is added to your “Pixel Besties” list, all your cats, calls, location shares and even the option of “creating new memories” with them will be gathered in a neat unified space.
The latest WhatsApp Beta (version 2.25.3.22) alludes to a central center for pixel beasties, propelled by something called com.whatsapp.pixel.besties.provider.pixelbestiespicontentprovider. This hub will serve as go-intermediate for applications like WhatsApp, which facilitates sharing and updating things like messages and calls.
By digging in the code, it seems that the Pixel Besties functionality could live in its own application, perhaps called “Pixel relationship” (com.google.android.apps.pixel.relations). It could even include a home screen widget.
At first, he will probably make data from Google and Whatsapp messages, but other platforms – in particular Google and Meta’s Messenger – are likely to join the party later.
This new discovery follows the Recent buzz About Google possibly adding a WhatsApp video call button directly in Google messages. Currently, Google Meet is Go-TO for video calls, dismantling each time you press the video call button in head or group cats.
This decision would make the cat on the platforms much more fluid. But now it seems that integration could go even further than we thought.
