WhatsAppis said that the development of a new feature for its iOS application aimed to facilitate music sharing on status updates. According to complaints from a beta tracker, the functionality was spotted in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iOS and allows users to share music from Spotify on their status updates via integration. It is said that it simplifies the existing process, eliminating the steps such as the transfer, copying and collage of links.

According to At WhatsApp Feature Tracker Wabetainfo, the Meta Platforms instant messaging client develops Spotify integration for WhatsApp status updates for publication on a future version of the application. It was spotted in WhatsApp Beta for the version of the IOS application 25.8.10.72. Based on screenshots shared by the functionalities tracker, sharing music on status updates will include an overview generated by WhatsApp, displaying information such as the title of the song, the artist’s name and the album cover.
In addition, it is also supposed to have a link which will open the track directly on Spotify via a Play on spotify option. Once deployed, users have seen a new Status Option in the sharing sheet on Spotify for iOS. It is said that it brings the music sharing experience in WhatsApp to equality with Instagram, another of Meta Platform applications.

It is supposed to be deployed on more WhatsApp for beta iOS users in the coming weeks.
