WIMS WOODSYNTHE 4.0 is a major free update for its MPE MPOSE and MULTIACK MPE synthesizer with a new tube oscillator and more.
Four years ago, Wims (Woodman’s Immaculate Maple Syrup Studio) released The Woodsynth, a multi-top synthesizer for iOS and MacOS. In recent years, the synth has been more and more evolved into a powerful multi-top and multi-synthetic synth.
The FM synthesis has been added to the virtual analog engine and the engine of version 2.0. The following updates have added wave adjustment functions, a deeper sequencing and a better user interface. WIMS Woodsynth 4.0 is now available for download and is even more complete.
WIMSSYNTH WIMS 4.0
Woodsynth 4.0 is a free update for existing users on MacOS and iOS. It adds a new tube oscillator based on tube modeling technology in the application / effect plugin / Woodvalvet tube saturation plugin.
Training, biases and tube type parameters allow smooth harmonic changes and transform waveforms from the sinus and square wave. An optional integrator circuit after the oscillator to generate sawtin wave wave waves. Various sources can also adjust the training command (LFO input, ADAR or Midi of the oscillator).
Another major addition to WIMS Woodsynth 4.0 is a new reverberation of convolution based on the WoodverBerator reverberation application. He has reverberation time (0 .. 10S) and amortization parameters. To simplify the workflow, the Réverbes now have a new Réverb type drop -down menu and their own user interface panel.
The REVERB section now has independent parameters of a pass, past and saturation and is no longer shared with the delay. Like the new reader of the oscillator, the reverberation Convolution is also model – the parameter sent by the reverberation with the general LFO and by the pressure of the keyboard / aftertouch.
Woodsynth 4.0 also adds samples by note, giving notes without an example of new modes to generate sound from existing samples.
In addition, it is shipped with a new preset browser with more than 10 fresh sounds and a setlist option. The other additions are the trigger for the manual sequencer, the note values for the sequencer and the improved MIDI learning indications. The latter now indicates when a MIDI CC is already used.

First impression
This is an excellent free update for existing users. Woodsynth has been on the market for four years, and the developer still offers free updates, which is very welcome.
